Trapani, Sicily: thousands of history to discover and experience

From Punic wars to WW2: study the Italian language where history has been made

Students who come to study Italian in Sicily always attend a guided visit of Trapani where they learn about the thousands of years of local history, from the legendary origins to present days. During an Italian study stay in Trapani some world-class archaeological sites can be visited, such as the Segesta theatre and temple, the ruins of Selinunte, the Mothia digs.

From the Middle Ages to the XX century Trapani was an important maritime and industrial centre, thanks to salt, tuna fishing and coral. Each of these trades has its own museum: the Florio tuna factory in Favignana, the corals section in Trapani's Pepoli fine arts museum and no less than two salt museums: one in Nubia and one in the Ettore Infersa saltpans next to Mothia.

Today Trapani is a very pleasant and liveable town, where old and modern, nature and landscape live together in harmony... the best conditions to attend an Italian school in Italy.

To really feel history, Erice deserves a special visit: on the top of the mountain overlooking Trapani, this town boasts a historical heritage ranging from the 7th century b.C. of its Punic city walls to the late Baroque of some of its finest churches.
