Road and railway connections to Trapani from Palermo and both airports

Arriving in Trapani from Palermo and Punta Raisi via motorway or railway - Arriving in Trapani from Birgi by car or bus

In Sicily travelling by coach is more comfortable than travelling by train, for example the Trapani-Palermo bus line (Segesta company) is faster and cheaper than the Trapani-Palermo train. For those visiting Trapani, the only recommended train route is the one to Marsala-Mazara del Vallo-Castelvetrano.

Trapani lies at the end of the A29DIR motorway, 100 km west of Palermo. It takes abou 75 minutes to reach the centre of Palermo (from the port, for example).

From Palermo airport, it takes 50 minutes through the A29DIR motorway. Please note that from Palermo (or Punta Raisi) you need to take the A29 toward MAZARA DEL VALLO, near ALCAMO, exit towards Trapani.

Scuola Virgilio is located in Via Bernardo Bonaiuto, between the main post office and car-free Via Garibaldi. If you drive to Trapani, you can park in the car park at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, then walk 2/3 minutes. By train, it is a 5-minute walk from the train station through the small city park Villa Margherita.

Dicono di noi...

I have taken courses here every summer since 2008, and I can strongly recommend it for the combination of good teaching and a friendly informal atmosphere. Trapani is an absorbing city in itself - rewarding exploration year after year with the discovery of new things, while there are many other places in western Sicily close enough to explore during afternoons and weekends. And there are beaches - within walking distance in Trapani, and further afield - and ferries to the Egadi islands.
