Scuola Virgilio was founded in 2006 in Trapani offering for the first time in Trapani summer courses in Italian language and culture for foreigners wishing to experience a study stay in Italy. It then expanded its educational offer by offering English courses in Trapani and its surroundings with native-speaking teachers for individuals, institutions and companies since 2010. Today Scuola Virgilio offers language courses organized in three departments all year round: Italian for foreigners, English and Spanish, with a dozen native teachers who teach in the classroom and online. Each teacher has his or her own story and personality, but they all have the same approach: making learning the language an experience of personal enrichment, which also allows you to create lasting friendships.
The school is also very active outside its classrooms: with social activities in Trapani, such as aperitifs with conversation in the language or events for children; on the internet with distance learning courses and its Facebook community where Italian and foreign students can exchange conversations as equals! Today the Scuola Virgilio is ready to welcome its students, even the youngest ones like children from 3 years old, in total safety to let each of them live a language learning experience that can change their lives for the better. Ideal for those who want to study in an informal and cosmopolitan environment, it offers English courses for children, teenagers and adults, is a Cambridge Preparation Center and also prepares for the IELTS exams.
After all, having been born as a school of Italian for foreigners, Scuola Virgilio is a point of reference for quality cultural tourism in western Sicily, as well as an accredited CELI exam center for the certification of Italian as a second language for foreign residents and not.
The headquarters of Scuola Virgilio is in via Osorio n° 24, right next to the green lung of Trapani, the splendid Villa Margherita, between the historic center and the new city, a few steps from the beach.
It has a secretariat and six functional and spacious classrooms, ideal for individual and group lessons, equipped with the latest equipment such as digital boards, or large touch-screens with powerful built-in audio, to make lessons more engaging and interactive.
Being on the 4th and top floor of the building, all the classrooms are very bright and two even have a beautiful view of the crowns of the centuries-old trees of the main public garden of the city. All rooms are air-conditioned for the well-being of teachers and students during summer lessons. The Scuola Virgilio headquarters also offers itself as a coworking space for individuals and groups thanks to its classrooms, its multilingual staff and its very central location: 250 meters (3 minutes on foot) from the train station, 450 meters (5 minutes) from the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, 750 meters (9 minutes) from the hydrofoil embarkation point for the islands.
