Free time activities in Trapani and surroundings

Free and paid activities for students attending Scuola Virgilio’s Italian courses by the sea

An Italian study stay in Italy at Scuola Virgilio in Trapani, doesn’t just give its students the opportunity to study Italian by the sea in Sicily, but also to be part of the local life in an authentic way. This is why Scuola Virgilio provides many extra-educational activities along with the Italian language courses: to experience Trapani more in-depth, visit the most noteworthy sites in western Sicily, discover Sicilian food and cuisine. In particular, the school arranges free activities during the week for all the students attending an intensive Italian course by the sea and other activities with a fee, such as excursions to the most interesting sites surrounding Trapani and cookery courses with a family or a cooking workshop.

Besides its own activities, Scuola Virgilio always provides students with up-todate information about other activities, events and shows in and around Trapani, such as open-air opera, watersports, town festivals and culinary treats.

Dicono di noi...

I have taken courses here every summer since 2008, and I can strongly recommend it for the combination of good teaching and a friendly informal atmosphere. Trapani is an absorbing city in itself - rewarding exploration year after year with the discovery of new things, while there are many other places in western Sicily close enough to explore during afternoons and weekends. And there are beaches - within walking distance in Trapani, and further afield - and ferries to the Egadi islands.
